A scientist prepares to give a speech before congress postulating that alien invaders piloting flying saucers have forced mankind from the skies by employing technology that causes their planes to fail. As he finishes practicing his speech on his wife, a flying saucer lands. Aliens disembark and slay him and his wife and destroy his notes.
